Adaptive Architects Inc., as part of the on-call services contract with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, was engaged to develop a proposal for designing a new Catholic Church for the St Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Parish community. The parish community currently occupies an existing spirituality center on the existing site to hold mass services. Due to the continued growth for parishioners, the Parish decided they wanted to expand and build a new ground-up church facility. The new church is traditional in its form, representing the shape of crucifix floor plan with a Narthex, Nave seating, and transept seating, elevated sanctuary / altar space, tabernacle, and related priest/work sacristies. Other functions include supporting mechanical rooms, storage, perpetual adoration chapel, cry room, confessionals, toilet rooms, and a chapel for daily mass. The building design is reflective of a Spanish Mission style that is present in the existing spirituality center.
